Paradiso
From the beginning in 1968 audiences were dancing to live music at Paradiso, Paradiso was closed during the night and until the beginning of the eighties, there was no real club culture in The Netherlands. In 1982 DJ Eddy de Clerq started the change with his Pep Club dance nights. This legendary club night led to the rise of house music and culture in the late eighties and lots of other dance parties in Paradiso that offered a home to nightflies. Halfway through the nineties Paradiso had some regular club nights, that were also meant to offer the visitors of concerts an opportunity to stay longer.
With our regular Friday night party called Vip Club, Paradiso was the first live music podium to function as a club. Soon after we started the ever so popular Noodlanding! party that still takes place today and ten years after this Paradiso hosts five club nights a week. Besides the regular night, some extremely hyped-up parties takes place a couple of times a year, such as the Oud Hollands Acid Feest, Manifesto, Lovedance and the Gouden Kabouter Awards.

Studio 80
Katapult. Midweekmayhem. Every Wednesday at Studio 80.
Amsterdam’s one and only slice of midweekmayhem, smack in the middle of the week, dab in the centre of town, crammed full of exciting new music.
Awarded ‘best new party’ of 2008 during the 13th edition of the Golden Gnome awards in Paradiso, Katapult presents the what’s what of today’s underground dance music with razor-sharp line-ups of local heroes and international talent.
It’s hard to know what to expect at Katapult, moving musically from groovy disco to banging fidget and sleazy midget, occasionally hitting some dirty electro and jackin’ house beats for good measure. From the summer of 2009 onwards, this horizon is extended even further to include trendsetting and often avant-garde liveacts from across the globe, in cooperation with the excellent Subbacultcha!
Hosted by The Heykids and Lieke, Katapult attracts a highly diverse crowd of hipsters, hustlers and hobos united only in their will to party, plus a stunning lack of obligations on Thursday.
Odeon
This old, crooked building on the Singel was originally a brewery and then became a theatre. Now it is a trendy club with a chic restaurant on the upper floor and a more affordable brasserie on the lower level, both serving international cuisine.
Panama
Panama* was established in the former port centre at the Oostelijke Handelskade in Amsterdam in late March 2001. For more than hundred years enormous machines had been busily providing electricity to the harbour from this impressive building on the “IJ”. The trendy location of this ‘entertainment transformed building’ (opposite Java-eiland) is affectionately known as the ‘Manhattan of Amsterdam’, typically due to the industrial heritage of our city.
As well as being a contemporary nightclub with great theatre shows, live music & popular club evenings, Panama also offers a trendy dance studio and a cafe restaurant with a grand terrace to the south for those mid-summer-nights.
